Auto Scale Weight Inspection (StASI)
Auto Scale Weight Inspection (StASI)
Inline weight inspection for every part, without stopping the line.
StASI – Auto Scale Weight Inspection is an in line, load cell based weight control station for production lines. It weighs each part during normal flow, compares the result with defined tolerances and records the outcome, without requiring the operator to stop the line or handle parts manually.
The system consists of two main components:
-
a measuring device based on a load cell, mounted between the robot arm and the part holder or at another suitable point on the line, and
-
a kiosk (PC with touch screen) that runs the Auto Scale software and presents results to the operator.
Communication between the measuring device and the kiosk is handled wirelessly, so the weighing process fits into the existing motion of the robot or handling system.
For each part, Auto Scale logs the measured weight, date and time, suitability information and selected process values from the machine, such as temperatures or counts when available. The interface can display all measured weights, trend charts, current measurements and alarms in one place, and provides access to historical alarms when needed. This makes weight control automatic, traceable and much easier to use for both operators and quality teams.
Key capabilities
With Auto Scale Weight Inspection (StASI), You Can:
Inline Weighing Without Disruption
Weigh each part as it is handled by the robot or line, keeping the normal production sequence and cycle times intact.
Load Cell Based Measurement
Use a measuring device based on a load cell between the robot arm and the holder, or similar mounting, to obtain consistent and precise weight values.
Automatic Pass or Fail Decisions
Compare each measurement with defined tolerance limits and mark parts as suitable or not suitable according to your quality rules.
Operator Kiosk With Real Time View
Provide a PC with touch screen next to the machine that shows current weight, status and simple indicators for recent parts so operators can follow the process easily.
Per Part Data Logging
Log weight, date and time, suitability and selected process values from the machine for every part so that nothing depends only on manual notes or samples.
Trends, Alarms And Quality Analysis
Display all measured weights and trend charts, show current alarms and give quality and process teams access to historical results so they can compare runs, check consistency and support standardization of parts produced.
The Process
How It Works
Define Station and Tolerances
Together we choose the station and part families, confirm target weights and tolerance ranges and agree on how pass or fail decisions will be used in the workflow.
Install Measuring Device and Screen
The Auto Scale measuring device is mounted between the robot arm and the holder, or at the suitable point on the line, and a control screen is placed near the machine. Communication between the device and screen is set up through the selected connection method.
Configure Rules and Data Logging
We configure tolerances, part identifiers and any additional machine data that should be captured. The system is set to log each measurement with time, suitability and selected process values.

Why AkyA Canada?
A practical partner for inline quality on real lines
AkyA Canada combines in line inspection, SCADA and MES with on site integration experience so you do not need to manage separate vendors for robots, sensors and software. We understand production lines, plastics and injection molding environments and how weight based control needs to fit into real cycle times and operator routines.
Our approach is to start with one station or cell, define clear tolerances and quality rules and deliver a working Auto Scale setup within a short period. Once the first station is proven and useful, we help you extend the same pattern to other molds, products and lines without adding unnecessary complexity.
Our approach is simple: start with one or two lines, agree on clear KPIs and loss codes, and deliver a working system in a short period of time. Once the first lines are stable and useful, we help you apply the same model to other lines and sites without adding unnecessary complexity.
